I've never blogged before, so not sure what I'm doing... I don't think too much can go wrong though!
What am I doing on blogspot? I hand make cloth dolls, and now I want the world to meet them. Here they are:
This one on the left, looking slightly bewildered, is Lily. She's wearing a very soft mohair sleeve off a jumper my sister-in-law, Lesley, gave me. Lily is a bit preppy, but she's got some attitude too.
This is Moya on the right. She's young, maybe still at school, and very smart. Almost too cool for school, if you know what I mean.
Meet Lady Vivienne on the left. She takes herself quite seriously, and spends a lot of time and money on her hair and general appearance.
These are the Kiwi twins on the right. They come from a dairy farm in the Waikato and they're very serious about cows. They are wearing gloves as jumpers.
This was one of my first dolls, and my personal favourite. She's called the 'Spree', which roughly translates as 'frairy'. She's based on an illustration by Piet Grobler in the book, 'Die Spree met Foete' by Phillip de Vos. It's about a failed fairy with freckles. Here's the original:
I made a second fairy, based on the first one.
