Before I get down to business, just have a look at the pohutukawa tree we camped under this weekend... It's such a magnificent tree and has a very real presence, not only providing shade for us all, but also a wonderful place for the kids to explore and play make-believe games in.
I pulled a name from a bag last night, and the winner is... Little Miss Flossie. Congratulations!! I really enjoyed all those movie choices; a few of them are already on my list of favourites, like Delicatessen, Baghdad Cafe and Juno. I'll keep your list for when I'm going to the video shop again; I'm always at a loss in there.

My next garage sale giveaway contains these goodies: one pocket mirror featuring Heidi, 4 vintage kid's book stickers and 4 covered embroidered buttons. The mirror and the buttons are seconds, just not as perfect as I would like for selling, but still in great useable condition for yourself. Today's topic is 'what's your favourite tree'. I'll give you until this Sunday night 8pm (NZ time) again. Remember to leave your email address if you don't have a Blogger account and good luck!

My fave tree is a Eucalyptus (yep, I'm still a true blue Aussie! hehe) because they smell divine. And koalas live in them, which makes them extra awesome.
Pohutukawa. Without a doubt, especially at Christmas time when they make the NZ coastline blazing red.
Kauri, tall & solid & strong.
cabbage tree - I love the silhouette shape they make at dusk =)
Wow that Pohutakawa is just stunning. I'm afraid I'm moving out of Australasia for my favourite tree. It's the Acacia. I love how they look on a barren African plain. Totally majestic. And those thorns are amazing. So huge, so sharp but totally delicate.
Mine is the Kowhai.. The Tui's love them and I love Tui's - the song from that bird (erm excuse that!!) is amazing!
PS. Love that camping spot!
my favourite tree at the moment is the fig tree I planted in my garden a few years ago, fingers crossed we will get a decent amount of figs off it this year.
I love Willow trees. I had a hut in a Willow as a kid. As an adult, I love to use Willow sticks in my garden for peas and beans to climb over and I named my oldest son, Willoughby, which is old English for 'farm by the willow tree'.

My favourite is my lemon tree - I like nothing better than going to the tree first thing in the morning to pick a homegrown lemon squeezing some juice into hot water and drinking up yum yum!!!
It's December...so it has to be the Christmas Tree!!!
My favourite has to be the kowhai tree! Beautiful flowers
This is almost as hard as picking a favourite movie! I like trees with fruit on them, maples(becuase of the leaves... and the syrup), silver birches, conifers... almost all trees, actually. But I have to agree with Sarah M. about kowhai and tui.
I'm going for a cabbage tree - very Dr Seuss!
rainforest tree; for its large canopy and simply because of its name.
for me it has to be the magnolia, beautiful when covered in lush green flowers and just magical in spring when flowering
