Saved

As expected, I had a good catch-up with some of my market friends yesterday, including Jennie from A Little Vintage who had a bag full of fabric to give away. Here are some of my finds:
One of those pieces came from the now-closed Salvage, one of the most wonderful little fabric shops in Auckland. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and got this cute Japanese cross-stitch book full of saturated colour and folk designs. Two of my favourite things; perfect. And the designs have lost-in-translation-sounding names like 'Singing vegetables' and 'Little flowers speak'.
And while we're on the subject of vintage fabrics and such, I got an email today with the details of the next Vintage Textile Fair in September. I know it's still a way off, but worth a trip up (or down of course) if you're not in Auckland.

I had meant to go back to Selvedge one last time before it closed but in a way it's probably a good thing I didn't!

Very exciting about the vintage textile fair, I missed it last year due to something else being on and I was gutted. Not this year.
